 Why Belong to a Pathway?

Pathways create relevance of learning, connecting high school coursework to work beyond high school.  They also validate the relationships between students and the educators who serve as their mentors. 

Pathways help students recognize the opportunities beyond high school.  They also help students understand their interests, work values, talents, and abilities.  It also shows how these may be used to best suit them in the job market.  Thus, increasing their chances for personal fulfillment in the work force.

What is a Career Pathway?

A Career Pathway allows students to develop their education using possible career fields as guides.  Students select which CLASSES they take based on the Career and Technology Pathway section they choose.

 

Benefits of Belonging to a Pathway

1.  Students who earn Career and Technical Education course credits tend to remain in school .  In fact they are three times less likely to drop out of high school.

 2.  Students who take Career and Technical Education classes are more likely to be employeed.

 3.  Graduates are able to find employment 2.2 faster than graduates from general education programs.

 4.  Graduates are 2.5 times more likely to be employed while pursuing post-secondary education.
